Random things on my mind:
- The common cold BLOWS. I slept till 3pm (though I did get up long enough to soak my CPAP mask and tubes; you have to do it every day when you’re sick) and it’s 9pm and I’m ready to sleep again. I basically ate one meal and unloaded the dishwasher today. Accomplishment. Ugh.
- BYUtv is on Roku. They were playing a goofy Canadian show earlier. It took me a really long time...

Mormonism in the News: Getting It Right →
You know what's fun?
Sending encouraging notes to other people. There are a lot of anons on Tumblr who really ought to give it a shot.
In other news...
I am coming down with some kind of upper respiratory infection and I am NOT happy about it. Despite science, I took 2000mg of Vitamin C during and after dinner in response (2000mg is the upper tolerable limit for adult females.)
I don’t know what I weigh (I have no digital scale at home, because I am OCD and digital = tracking = an extra hour of things to focus on that shouldn’t be...

Other, Less Authoritative Sources
LightPlanet (an LDS website, but totally unofficial and maintained by a more or less random member of the church, who is nonetheless very helpful.)
The Messenger (an LDS magazine - warning, PDF)
All About Mormons (questions and answers, totally non-official and you have no idea who’s writing it, but helpful)

This is why we have LDS.org, people.
So, I've dropped, like, 15 pounds
On December 30th, I weighed 262 pounds (according to the scale at the psychiatrist’s office.) Today, sixty days later, I weighed in at 246.8 pounds (at the scale at the diabetes class.) That’s an average of a pound lost every four days. Moreover, I weighed 251.4 on my first diabetes class weigh-in, two weeks ago today - that’s 4.8 pounds in 14 days, or almost a pound every...

“[L]et us take down one of those old notebooks which we have all, at one time or another, had a passion for beginning. Most of the pages are blank, it is true; but at the beginning we shall find a certain number very beautifully covered with a strikingly legible hand-writing. Here we have written down the names of great writers in their order of merit; here we have copied out fine...

Oh, yeah...
And if you ever have an injection that makes you pass out on the steps of the hospital, the correct course of action is not to walk back to your dorm and sleep it off, once you regain consciousness.
Instead, you should immediately go back inside and tell them what happened. I totally could have died - I was experiencing what essentially amounted to anaphylaxis, and didn’t know it.
(I...
Iodine Contrast Allergy →
I had a fairly significant reaction - it may have been exacerbated by the situation that brought me in, in the first place (I was in the middle of a serious bipolar episode, and hadn’t eaten in a while either because I had a blood test the same day or because I was nervous, I can’t remember.)
Note that technically, my odds of having a repeat performance are supposedly only 44%. ...
I hate change.
Enough said.
Mental Illness is NOT
A weakness
Laziness
Something to be ashamed of
Nonexistent
‘All in your head’
Something to make fun of
Something to be ignored
A reason to dislike someone
A reason to judge someone
A result of a persons’ shortcomings
Simple
A persons’ selfishness
Impossible to overcome

How to Get General Conference Music
For each of the newer conference home pages there’s a link that says “show music.” Unfortunately, you can’t use DownThemAll or anything that works the same way to get the music files - you have to pick them out, one at a time. The very newest conference has an RSS feed that makes this simple - I’m hoping the April 2012 conference will be the same way!

Youth Music
Other MP3s (all the hymns, children’s songs - really basic recordings)
I posted a LONG time ago all the conference links - I’ll see if I can’t hunt that down, because it was a LOT OF WORK.
A badge of honor, coming from that guy.
I wish I could say someone as evil as Putin is felt that I’d done such work in opposition to him.

It's official
I’m having 10oz of milk for dinner. I’ll try again with the food thing tomorrow.
This is why I consider this class to be a risk
So I had a club meeting at Panera at 6pm, but I was like “I shouldn’t eat these things, they’re not very healthy.” Then I went to Kroger to pick up my prescriptions (including a new as-needed anxiety medication that’s just supposed to control the sweating, palpitations, etc.) And I wandered around and decided to buy a bunch of low-fat and no-fat foods that look...
